About Me

Hi, welcome to Fionism.

If this is your first time here, my name is Fion. It's a great pleasure to meet you and thank you very much for dropping by my blog :D

I started blogging at the tender age of 14 under the inspiration of an internationally famous food blogger who's a close family friend. I ran that food blog for 4 years and had generated over 700,000 page views when I terminated it to start this blog that you are reading right now. The reason was that I wanted a space where I could express my thoughts and creativity and to share bits and pieces of my personal life with everyone instead of just focusing on one niche.

Right before I left home to pursue my studies in Melbourne, I started this blog with the purpose of recording my life abroad to share with my friends. Also as a space to shamelessly post my selfies in addition to using it as a substitute for a hard drive because at the age of 19 I couldn't justify why would I need to spend a fortune to keep my selfies secured if I could just post them online.

As this blog evolved, I was privileged enough to befriend several overseas bloggers and readers as well as being approached by companies with advertorial proposals.

Now, here's a little about myself:

I was born in Hong Kong on the 12th February 1994 (proud Aquarius babe). I am half Taiwanese and half Malaysian.

I grew up in Penang which is a small pretty island in Malaysia.

I am a Finance and Accounting graduate from the University of Melbourne.

My favourite colours are blue, white, silver, champagne, black and gold.

I'm a crazy unicorn and cat person.

I have an insane love for music and movies.

I play the guitar, both electrical and acoustic. (still in the process of figuring out how to play my ukulele though).

I own a Midori Travelor's Notebook which holds my memories and keeps my life organised. I bring it pretty much everywhere with me even though I know that I won't be using it. Just bringing it with me makes me happy.

I speak 6 languages and I am still thinking of learning 2 more in the near future. There's a thing about foreign languages that attract me to them. I have always found them very interesting and it is cool to be able to understand another country/culture's language and to be able to communicate with people from different backgrounds.

Unlike those pretty, elegant and glamourous bloggers out there, my selling points are my bubbly personality and straight-forward non-pretentious attitude because I can't be like them, so this is the easier way out. According to my friends, the way I blog is just like the way I talk in real life. I find it very tiring to act like someone who I can't be thus the best way is to stay true to myself. This explains the occasional profanities that appear here and there too #sorrynotsorry

I hope to be a trustworthy friend to all of my readers. I want to be the person you believe in and will turn to for honest comments and advice for your problems and/or questions in life.

Do stay connected with me on my blog, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube because stalking is the easiest way to get to know me! :P
